DesignCrowd Reviews & Alternatives

How way DesignCrowd works?

DesignCrowd offers a wide range of services, including logo design, website development, t-shirt design, cartoon design, and more. You can likely find a freelancer on DesignCrowd who can create any design you need.

It is relatively simple to complete the process. Basic project creation works like this: you create a project, designers compete to complete it, and you choose the design that best matches your needs. Various paid packages are available with varying costs and features.

Within 24 hours of creating your project, you should start receiving submissions. You can choose a deadline of three, five, or ten days, depending on the package. You will have more choice of submissions if the deadline is later.

Each project receives more than 50 submissions on average. You're likely to get better responses if you give detailed feedback on submissions.

It is possible to request specific revisions from the designer before committing to the project if you find that the submission you liked is off in a few crucial ways. This will allow the designer to refine their design.

In addition to any design files you receive after choosing the winning design and completing the project, you will also receive full copyright on the design.

You could, for example, land a logo by:

  1. Large JPEG
  2. Small JPEG
  3. PNG file
  4. EPS Vector file
  5. Vector source file - usually Adobe Illustrator

Getting a template design is certainly an option if you want to skip this process altogether. Nevertheless, DesignCrowd's freelancers customize your design, making your brand stand out from the crowd.

  • Money-back guarantees are available on the site.
  • For each project, employers could receive hundreds of designs.

Cons of Designcrowd >

Pricing and Plans >

DesignCrowd offers some pricing flexibility depending on your budget, like other crowdsourcing sites. From $109 to over $700, logo design packages are available.

The way of the $109 price point is that you only get one designer, which kind of defeats the purpose of crowdsourcing.

At $319, you'll get multiple submissions from several designers, giving you a nice variety to choose from while still spending less than the competition.

Special Offer: Use promo code AFF150OFF for up to $150 off your design project!

From a top-end perspective, I can see some overwhelm developing from having to choose from 150+ designs, so I would probably go with something in the middle.

Among DesignCrowd's most popular packages, their $499 package promises 100+ designs, but if my budget is tight, I'd pick the $50+ tier instead.

You can make your contest private or feature it to get more entries. DesignCrowd offers a 100% money-back guarantee if you do not like any of the designs at the end of the contest.

BrandCrowd is an AI-based logo design service that lets you use thousands of templates to create your own logo. Enter your company name, industry, or keyword, and sort through the results:

Then, you can customize your business logo by choosing a logo style, font style, and color preference. As with other Do-It-Yourself logo services, you'll have to pay for high-resolution files.

BrandCrowd charges $25-45 (unsure if it is a limited-time promo)

In addition, there's a monthly subscription option with a bunch of extra features, the most valuable of which is "unlimited edits.". If you ever need to make a change, I can see how that would be useful.

Other than that, it seems kind of unnecessary to pay monthly for what is likely a one-time project.

The Reputation of Designcrowd >

The reputation of DesignCrowd among designers is not good. Based on more than 50 reviews, mostly from designers, the platform scored only 1.2 out of 5 stars on SiteJabber.

On TrustPilot, the platform has a 4.4-star rating out of five, which is based on more than 1,300 reviews. It had a good user experience, and a reasonable price and the quality of work received was generally satisfactory for clients using the platform.

Conclusion of Designcrowd >

As a whole, we were pleased with DesignCrowd's final logo design. We must admit, however, that the large number of projects we received was both overwhelming and time-consuming.

Some were great, others were too similar to one another, and others weren't really up to our standards, but we found something to work with. For logo design, we recommend DesignBro after trying a few platforms.

As the contests are blind and the platform works only with top designers, they provide fewer designs to choose from, but all of them are original and professional. While we appreciate the number of projects we received, we must admit that it was both overwhelming and time-consuming to handle.

FAQ >

Is DesignCrowd safe to use?

Yes, Designcrowd  Website has been operating since 2007, has facilitated millions of successful projects, and is SSL-certified. On the platform, all information is encrypted with 256 bits.

Is DesignCrowd worth it for hiring a designer?

Crowdsourcing websites like DesignCrowd are great for hiring freelance graphic designers. There are a number of excellent characteristics of DesignCrowd.

There is a variety of quality work to choose from due to the number of active designers and the competitive nature of the contests.

Their privacy add-ons are another benefit. In addition to the posting fee, their guarantee can give you the peace of mind that none of your money is at risk.

Not everyone is a good fit for DesignCrowd. If you prefer, you might want to use a service that screens freelancers, such as DesignBro or Fiverr. For clients looking for quick freelance design work, DesignCrowd is a very solid option.

Is DesignCrowd the Right Solution for You?

DesignCrowd is a great place to find the logo of your dreams if you have the budget and are willing to wait a bit.

For SMBs, freelancers, or those just needing a logo for personal use, Fiverr might be a better choice. You can start shopping on the site for as little as $5, so there's no reason to hesitate.

It was nice to have a variety of designers to choose from, and I was pleasantly surprised with the results. If you'd like to hold a logo design contest, you can hire several designers on Fiverr and choose the one you like best.  Pricing starts at just $5, so this option is still likely to be cheaper than running a DesignCrowd contest.

Is DesignCrowd a good value for money?

It's a pretty nice price plan, especially when you consider how quick it is to get it done. It can cost tens of thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands, of dollars to design a custom logo from a big-name designer or agency.

With DesignCrowd's most popular plans, you can get a variety of designs within days for a fraction of the price. You can pay with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or PayPal.

The more expensive plans offer a greater selection of designs and designers, but all plans come with the same features. You will also receive business cards with the two most expensive plans, and your project listing will be highlighted.

With the most expensive plan, your project will be featured before other projects so you will get more designs, faster. The most expensive plans aren't worth the money, in my opinion.

You can choose from 100-150 logos, but who has that kind of time. The point isn't that I do, it's that I do. It's possible to get an extra revision from your designer if you're very nice, but otherwise, you won't get any more.

It's a good thing there's a money-back guarantee. In the event you don't like any of the designs, you can ask for a refund within 30 days, and you will receive your project budget back, less some fees.

Lastly, you may be able to get a discount. It's easy to miss them, but I'll make sure that doesn't happen. There is a section for "Popular Pages" at the bottom of every DesignCrowd page. Click on the link to access the DesignCrowd discount. Behold the savings jackpot
